How fees work
Plain answers before you book. Call the front desk if yours is not here.
Insurance we work with
We are out of network with health plans, and we do not bill them for you. Some plans pay part of an acupuncture visit back when you send in the receipt we give you, and some do not cover acupuncture at all.
We do not bill your plan
A receipt after every visit
Ask your plan whether it has an acupuncture benefit
If you pay yourself
You pay at the end of each visit by card. An HSA or FSA card works where your plan allows it; ask your plan administrator whether acupuncture is an eligible expense before you book. The fee for a first visit and for a return visit is in your estimate.
Receipts for reimbursement
After every visit you can take an itemized receipt, called a superbill, with the date, the service and our license details, and your plan may pay part of it back; your plan decides. Send it to your plan or your HSA or FSA administrator, and ask them:
Is there an acupuncture benefit?
How many visits does it cover?
Is there a copay or a deductible?
Do I need a referral?
An estimate in advance
We give a written estimate in advance to anyone paying without insurance. Ask for it when you book, and we send it before your first visit. If a bill ever comes to $400 or more above your estimate, you can dispute it, and we will walk you through how.
Checking your benefits
We are out of network, so we cannot check your benefits for you. We can tell you which four questions to ask, and our front desk can help you read what your plan sends back.
What the first visit includes
About 75 minutes: a talk about your health and your medicines, a look at your tongue and pulse, about 25 minutes of rest with needles in place, and a plan for the next few visits. Your acupuncturist explains the risks and answers your questions before any needle goes in.
Ready to book, or still have a question?
Our front desk can talk you through any of this before you choose a time.
